The study concluded that there is a relationship between the use of social networking sites
and the reshaping of the community culture of university students, through the formation of
some new behavioral patterns that formed the concept of virtual society, and provided a
window through which to view the cultures of other peoples, while contributing to the
preservation of customs and traditions, and the self-development of some students. The results
also showed the relationship between the level of interaction via social networking sites and
the establishment of ethics of rational discussion. The results of the study also confirmed that
social networking sites constitute a public space that works to mobilize public opinion, and
thus encourage individuals to practice active citizenship through participation in community
issues.
