Our study was based in a first step on field trips in winter 2023 at the level of locust biotopes
of the Tademaït plateau in Algeria. In a second part, we have exploited the archive of the INPV
which gathers the locust and floristic data of the Algerian Sahara during the year 2022e (Global
Positionning System), Geographic Information System (RAMSES), Locust Information
Satellite Transmission Devices (Elocust 3).
Locust surveys were also carried out in autumn and winter at the Tademaït plateau. Distribution
maps of the desert locust have been drawn up, It appears that the individuals of Desert Locust
in the solitary (or weakly transient) state are mainly distributed in the desert area. Two
reproductions are possible; one in spring in the central Sahara which is more abundant and a
second in autumn at the southern part of the plateau,
