dc.description.abstract The objective of this study is to identify the most common parasites that can infect rock doves (Columba livia) as well as house sparrows (Passer domesticus) that nest in the region of Ghardaïa (Algeria) over a period of five months, from January to May 2023. In order to achieve our goal, we carried out a census of nests in different areas. We also counted chicks and adults, as well as collected droppings. During this period, we collected the various parasites present on the bodies of the chicks and the adults. After the chicks fledged, we collected their nests to examine them in the lab for ectoparasites. In addition, we carried out microscopic examinations on the droppings. The parasite inventory of rock doves (Columba livia) and their nests reveals the presence of different species of parasites, as well as other non-parasitic organisms, with seasonal variations linked to the breeding period. which is represented in three ectoparasitic species in total (Columbicola columbae, Campanulotes compar and Stenepteryx hirundinis) in the nests and only Columbicola columbae at the level of the bodies, the most abundant species is Columbicola columbae and the non-parasitic population is represented, to nests, chiefly by the order Coleoptera by seven species. The three species of the parasitic population are divided into 1 classes, 2 orders and 2 families where the best represented family is Philopteridae. On the other hand, the ectoparasite encountered on the Passer domesticus is the red louse (Dermanyssidae). The endoparasites encountered in the droppings of rock pigeons belong to the class of Ancylostomatidae which is part of the Nematoda skewer: in the adult stage is larval, and the class of Trematoda in the adult and larval stage EN_en
