Abstract:
This study seeks to explore how evaluating, selecting, and adapting materials impactthe success of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) lessons in secondary schools in Algeria.The objective is to investigate the degree to which these practices improve the effectiveness of EFL instruction. The research approach is primarily descriptive, utilizing mixedmethodstogatherdata,includingaquestionnaireforsecondaryschoolEnglishteachersin Ghardaia province and an interview conducted with a national education inspector.Uponstudyingthegathereddata,itbecameclearthatthecorrectevaluation,selection,and adaptation of educational materials have a beneficial impact on the effectiveness ofEnglishasaForeignLanguage(EFL)classes.
