The objective of this work is to study the soil of Lake Maleh characteristics located in El-Menia, which is
regarded as wetlands of international importance and classified according to Ramsar Convention. To achieve this
goal, the soil has been sampled from the surface to the deepest possible horizon and we conducted at the
laboratory level (analysis of the chemical weight of the soil and the electric conveyor..... etc.), the results show
that the soil at the study site has a moderate alkaline pH. The results of the analysis of the upper lake's electrolyte
show that it has a slightly salty soil as well as rich organic material compared to the lower lake with salty soil
and less abundant organic material. The chemical weight analysis showed that it has a sandy clay texture in both
lake basins. This study showed that the soil of the lake and the desert wet areas are organic poor soil with a clay
texture.
