The present study highlights that vegetable crops are an important food source for
populations worldwide. However, these crops often face fungal diseases that can lead to
significant crop losses.
The aim of this study is to document and analyze the significance and evolution of
fungal diseases across 03 agricultural farms. The most common fungal diseases affecting
Agricultural crops during 2022/2023 in the Ghardaia were examined to better comprehend
their impact and propose preventive solutions.
At the National Institute of Plant Protection in Ghardaïa (INPV), the results of
observed fungal symptoms are as follows:
The results obtained from isolation and identification revealed the presence of 07
fungal diseases (Alternaria sp, Rhizoctonia sp, Rhizopus sp, Stemphylium sp, Thielaviopsis sp,
Penicillium sp, Cladosporium sp) out of a total of 70 fungal isolations.
These diseases are characterized by the prevalence of Alternaria sp with a severity of
15.7%, followed by Penicillium sp with a severity of 12.8%. Additionally, Rhizopus sp,
Stemphylium sp, and Rhizoctonia sp were observed with the same severity of 10%, followed
by Thielaviopsis sp with a severity of 7.14%. Furthermore, Cladosporium sp was observed
with a severity of 1.42%, but only on a few plants. |
