Abstract:
In order to identify the Orthoptera fauna of the Saharan regions, we conducted a «
literature review of Orthoptera in the Saharan regions during the period (2017/2020) »,
including Ghardaia, Ouargla, Biskra, Adrar, El Goléa, and El Oued. The methods employed by the
authors in their works are Sweep net, Quadrat and catch by hand. The results obtained from these
three methods are 71 orthoptera species including: 47 species in the Ghardaia region, 31 species
in El Goléa, 24 species in El Oued, 22 species in Adrar, 16 species in Biskra, and finally 21
species in Ouargla, given that these species belong to the different sub-orders, 61 Caelifera
species and 10 Ensiferum species. Aspidomorpha and Tetrigidae are the two groups that make up
the suborder Caelifera. In contrast, four groups represent the suborder Ensifera: The
Tettigoniidae, Gryllidae, Trigonid Idea, and Myrmecophagidae. Three Acrididae subfamilies:
Oedipodinae, Gomphocerinae, and Eyprepocnemidinae represent respectively 40%, 13%, and
11% of the total Acrididae at the six stations under study.
