The aim of this work is to estimate the rate of date-date infestation of dates on different date
cultivars in the Ouargla region. It is a question of estimating the rate of date infestation by
Ectomyelois ceratoniae in palm trees by comparing the different infestation rates on three types of
dates studied (diet dates, dates fallen on the ground and dates of stocks) Of three cultivars (Ghars
Deglet-Nour and Degla-Beida). Afterwards, biochemical analysis of the three cultivars studied was
carried out with the comparison of the results in four selected stations in the Ouargla region. The
cultivar Degla Beida is one of the most infested with rates up to 9.5% in the N’Goussa pyrale station
has a greater impact on the dates fallen on the ground and the dates in stocks. In addition, dates were
discriminated against by biochemical analyzes ; They are largely slightly acidic to neutral, rich
enough in total sugars. The cultivar Ghars is rich in reducing sugars and less rich in sucrose. All
cultivars show a variable consistency. The A.C.P. Shows that the date moths prefers semi-soft or dry
dates relative to their ratio of total sugars to water and to slightly acidic to neutral dates with a high
sucrose content. This result opens new perspectives for the fightagainst this pest.
