Abstract:
The study of the durability and performance of cereal agriculture in arid areas pass through the
study of agricultural production systems, their dynamic evolution and impact of agricultural activity on
the soil. Our work conducted in the region of Hassi El F'HEL ( Ghardaia ). Is to study the spatial
variability of organic matter following a systematic sampling on a regular grid by comparing the data
of two plots used for 20 years to an uncultivated land. Results revealed that the analyzed soil is very
poor to moderately poor in organic matter. Analysis of annual rate of change has revealed a very highly
significant increase in the organic matter of the soil.Thematic analysis has shown a moderate spatial
variability for cultivated lands and very high for non- cultivated lands. The geostatistical modeling
showed, from the experimental variograms, a trend toward homogenization of the spatial variation of
organic matter after agricultural intensifications.
