Abstract:
The date pyral Ectomyelois ceratoniae Zeller is one of the main predators of the date palm.
This work was interested in estimating the rate of infestation of a variety of dates (Deglet-Nour) at
the agricultural perimeter level of El Amiad El Istislah Guerrara Wilaya of Ghardaïa. The study of
the interactions between date pyral and the ecological components of this ecosystem was also carried
out, followed by an analysis of the data (AFC) in order to show the aggravating factors of the
infestation of date varieties. The results obtained show that: rich biodiversity and high planting
density, small spacing between the plantations, which allows the transmission of the pest by
preventing aeration and by the passage of the solar rays, the maintenance of the plots represented by
the collection of dates after the harvest, the cleansing of date palms by the recovery of dates affects
the infestation and a well-developed fruit tree well attractive to date pyral.
