Abstract:
The aim of our study is to highlight the fact of the management of generated liquid waste and the administrative and
technical practice followed by the activities of the public hospital El Akid Chaabani in El-Meniaa and the proximity establishment in
Hassi El-Gara and the extent of its compatibility with national and international standards. To achieve the aim of our followed
methodology wihch included the clarification of all the methods followed in the treatment of the two establishments through a
field visit and to investigate the extent of the employees’ awareness of those methods through a questionnaire about the fact of
hospital liquid waste management in the two health establishments in El-Meniaa.
The main findings that we achieved about the methods of treatment are the lack of information and the weakness of
competencies and the efforts of those involved in the management of liquid waste, so that the methods of its management are
still far from bieng conformed and realized in accordance with the legal system and the international standard specifications
where liquid waste should be re-evaluated and modified. In addition to that, a comprehensive and integrated solution for the
management of hospital waste problem should be developed, with the participation of all stakeholders in order to increase
capacities, competencies and correct errors.
