This work focuses on the depilatory effect, unknown by the scientific community, of the plant
Pergularia tomentosas L. The work revolves around several experiments, from preliminary
tests, to the tests of the fractions separated from the extracts of the plant using the column
chromatography method. The results of the work show that the stems are the most effective
part, and that maceration is the most effective extraction method. The compound responsible
for this depilatory effect seems to be present in a light yellow colored fraction separated from
the stem extract. The work is therefore the first to explore this track of the benefits of the
plant, which has been widely studied for its antibiotic and antioxidant power. |
