Abstract

This study aims at identifying the role of El-Nahar TV channel news in prioritizing students’ towards political cases. The researchers have relied on a descriptive approach according to this study, which main problematic was: “what is the role of El-Nahar TV channel news in prioritizing students, to wards political cases at the faculty of Laws and political sciences at Ghardaia university?" This was mainly to understand the impact of relationship between university students and news on their political attitudes. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool and distributed deliberately to 70 students at the faculty of Laws and Political Sciences. The results revealed that: − most of sample members are motivated to watch El-Nahar TV News which is related to their specialty and field of interests. − They consider EL-Nahar TV channel as a reliable source of information in a significant proportion. − the majority of Laws and political sciences students consider this channel as a strong competitor although they think that it do not broadcasting as true news as they actually are. − their degree of confidence is medium to what the channel is presenting; which makes them neutral in their interest in political cases than others when it is published on Al-Nahar tv as well as when it is widespread in the political area. − The study sample also considers that what Al-Nahar channel presents in its news is in kept with political developments at a high rate, This helped them to know the internal political conditions , but it did not affect their information and political decisions and did not push them to make a political decision towards a particular issue, they arrange the political issues that concern them according to their own principles and attitudes.
