dc.description.abstract | Our research examines the importance of Lepidoptera’s wealth and damage in agricultural fields in the El Meniaa region over a period of five months at two distinct locations: (Abdelkrim Bounaama Investment and Hadj Hadjadj Mahmoud Model Farm), with the objective of evaluating the impact of Lepidoptera on these orchards. In this work, we used five sampling techniques: (Butterfly Net Flat, colored traps, light traps and sugar traps). Seven families of lepidoptera were identified and sampled. Biodiversity indices, such as species richness, relative abundance, and frequency of occurrence, use the results. The global butterfly inventory counts 08 species belonging to 07 different families. The family Nymphalidae is the richest, with up to 128 members. There was no distinction between stations based on the number of species recorded, as all species were present in both locations. During our research, we noted that the most notable species on wheat, tomato, corn and sunflower plantations is Helicoyverpa armigera, while other insects also attack crops, causing considerable damage can reach 100⁒ of petes. We also observed that these insects cause significant damage to fruit trees such as pear and orange trees. | EN_en |
