The analysis of the distribution of electric field and potential along a real insulator under dry and wet contamination’s conditions was carried out in this work. In order to examine the influence parameters; the insulator format, the insulating material, the electrical conductivity and the pollution distribution mode, and to see their effect on the electrical behavior of these insulators, simulations were carried out on the Comsol Multiphysics 6.1 software. According to the results obtained, it should be noted that the humid case negatively influences the electrical performance of the insulator, independently of the type of material, pollution distribution’s mode and the chosen profile. On the other hand, no influence is detected after the change in the electrical conductivity value. In addition, the results of our research help us to deepen our knowledge on the behavior of insulators of various materials; hydrophilic, hydrophobic and superhydrophobic.EN_en
