Abstract: | Brucellosis is a widespread zoonotic disease with high prevalence rates in Algeria. It is transmitted to humans by brucella cocci. Our work is divided into two parts: The first part consists of compiling bibliographic knowledge on the study of animal and human brucellosis. The second part is a retrospective survey on notifiable diseases (brucellosis) in the wilaya of Ghardaïa over a period of five years (2019-2023). The results obtained made it possible to identify: Prevalence of bovine brucellosis (0.69%) during the five years. And prevalence of caprine brucellosis (3.9%) over the five years. And prevalence of human brucellosis (42.78 per 100,000 inhabitants) in Ghardaïa over a period of five years. and the age group (20-44 years) is the most affected with a rate of (50.21%). And the infection rate during the period (2019-2023) was (64.5%) among men and (35.5%) among women. |
