Abstract: This study aimed to shed light on two main and important topics in the field of work and employment: job stress and burnout. It provided a comprehensive and in-depth overview of each topic, highlighting definitions, theories, stages, types, effects, and strategies. The relationship between job stress and burnout was examined from the perspective of the professors at the University of Ghardaia. The study population consisted of a total of 597 professors at the University of Ghardaia, out of which a sample of 100 participants was randomly selected. A total of 110 questionnaires were distributed, with a response rate of 100%. 10 of the questionnaires were eliminated due to lack of responses, representing 10% of the total. A total of 100 valid questionnaires were retrieved and analyzed, representing a 90% response rate. A descriptive approach was employed in the theoretical part of the study, while an analytical approach was used in the applied portion. The study aimed to determine the relationship between the factors constituting job stress and its impact on job burnout among the sample population. The results revealed a statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of job stress and burnout from the perspective of the professors at the University of Ghardaia. These dimensions included nature of work, role conflict, role ambiguity, and role overload. The findings also indicated a statistically significant effect between the dimensions of job stress and burnout. Additionally, statistically significant differences were found in the relationship between job stress and burnout attributed to personal variables such as gender, age, educational level, and years of seniority. In light of these results, the recommendations aimed to address the findings of the study, improve the work environment, and reduce job burnout among the professors at the University of Ghardaia
