dc.description.abstract | Our study on the biology and reproductive ecology of the Turkish turtledove (Streptopelia decaocto) in the Oued Mzab Ghardaïa region was conducted through regular monitoring over a period of three months (March-April-May) during the breeding season of 2023. The study was conducted in two different locations (Daya Ben Dahoua and Bounoura) to observe their nesting and reproductive behavior Our results demonstrate that the breeding season begins in the spring around March-April.The analysis of reproductive parameters reveals that clutch size varies from 1 to 2 eggs during the breeding season in both sites. The number of eggs hatched and young birds fledged shows significant averages in both locations. The overall reproductive success and fledging success exhibit high percentages, particularly in Daya, attributed to meteorological, dietary, and environmental factors. | EN_en |
