Abstract: The dairy sector is expanding due to the increasing consumption of dairy products in the world, as the dairy industry is the main source of food processing, which consumes the largest amounts of water in all processes. of production. As a result, the amount of discharged wastewater has also increased which poses a threat to the environment when disposed of without treatment. The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of sand filtration method to filter dairy waste (white water) in EL-Menia state. We installed four filter tubes (15cm in diameter) containing different amounts of sand 25, 50, 75 and 100 cm. Through the results obtained, we found that: The best filters according to the criterion of filter duration are filters 1 (25 cm) and 2 (50 cm). There is a gradual improvement in the color of white water at through the filters, a significant increase in the pH value up to 5.3. The various filters cause a slight increase in the mineral part of the white water. While they cause a reduction of organic matter up to 76%. Finally, through all this, especially according to the criteria of filtration time and reduction of organic matter, filter 1(25cm) is considered to be the ideal filter for the filtration of white water.
