Abstract: We conducted a study on the reproductive biology of the House Bunting (Emberiza Sahari) in the Ghardaïa region (Algerian Northern Sahara) during the breeding season (2022-2023). This study allowed us to observe their reproductive behavior, including site selection, egg- laying chronology, hatching success, fledging success, reproductive success, and causes of failure. The study was conducted in the Sebseb site. The results obtained revealed that the breeding season starts during the last week of February and extends until May 2023, reaching its peak egg- laying period in April. Analysis of reproductive parameters indicates that clutch size varies from 3 to 4 eggs throughout the breeding season in this site, with an average of 2 to 3 eggs hatching successfully. During this study, we have observed that nest abandonment and predation are the main causes of reproductive failure in the House Bunting.
