Abstract: Our work focuses on the study of the antibacterial activity of essential oil and aromatic water of plant Cotula cinerea and aromatic water of the Chamomilla recutita L. Essential oils of aerial parts of Chamomilla recutita and Cotula cinerea were extracted by steam distillation and test its activity on the four bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae). The results show that the essential oil has an average Cotula cinerea antimicrobial activity of inhibition diameters between 6 and 15mm against that obtened by of aromatic water, the same plant has a weak antimicrobial activity with inhibition zones diameter of ranging from 5 to 13mm in comparison with the antimicrobial activity of the aromatic water Chamomilla recutita L., the last one has a significant activity against the same bacterial strains witch varies between 12 to 15mm.
