This research represents a listing of the scorpion fauna of the region of Zelfana (Ghardaïa). It is carried out at four study stations, delimited in four different distinct biotopes namely: the palm grove, the reg, the erg and the plain of valley. We collected, during eight months of prospecting, a total of 168 individuals of scorpions, grouped into 05 species of scorpions belonging to a single family of Buthidae: Androctonus amoreuxi, Androctonus australis, Androctonus aenea, Buthacus samiae, Buthacus sp. The australis is the most abundant species in the Zelfana region (63.69%), followed by A. amoreuxi with 32.74%, while the other three species A. aeneas, B. samiae and Buthacus sp have very low rates that do not exceed 3%. The Results for the relative abundance of station-specific scorpion species revealed that A. australis is the most dominant species in the four stations. On the other hand, the other species A. aeneas B. samiae and Buthacus sp. are more or less rare in our study. Buthacus sp. deserves further investigation considering the possibility of finding new species in the region of Ghardaia in particular and the center of Algeria in a general.EN_en
