Abstract: Fusarium wilt is one of the most serious diseases of the date palm. It is caused by the ascomycete fungus Fusarium oxysporum (F. oxysporum). The aim of this study is to examine palm grove soil for microorganisms antagonistic to Fusarium oxysporum that have been isolated from two samples of Azerza and Bent Kbala. Antagonistic tests in controlled medium revealed six bacterial strains with antagonistic effects: Three of the genus Micrococcus sp. or Staphylococcus sp., and one strain for each of the genera Acetobacter sp, Pseudomonas sp. and Enterococcus sp.
