Abstract: This work aims to know the current status of biomedical analyses in laboratories that pose a healthy and environmental problem especially in the places where they are spread. Therefore, we investigated the biomedical laboratory in Ghardaia. 9 laboratories from the public and private sectors of the city were interviewed using a questionnaire as well as interviews with wastes management officials. The rate of participation in this questionnaire was 36% of the private sector and 64% of the public sector. 90% of laboratory technicians remove these wastes through individual contribution to the Holocaust and 10% are discarded by the analyser. As for the fate of the laboratory wastes, it is through the sewerage network by 82%, followed by 9% of the destruction rate of the liquid wastes through the sewage network after sterilisation and through the treatment factory that depends to the laboratory This study deals with the management of health care wastes on a daily basis, the sorting and the quality, and to what extent it is convenient for packaging, storage and disposal by burning as well as the fate of burning residues.
