La représentation de l’amour dans « La Guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu » de Jean Giraudoux

Abstract

La présente étude porte sur la thématique de l’amour dans la pièce de théâtre : La Guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu, de Jean Giraudoux. Le drame est mis en scène en 1935, une période très critique de l’histoire de la France. La pièce relate le spectre de la guerre qui rôde autour de Troie, à cause du rapt d'Hélène la princesse grecque par le prince troyen Pâris, sous la pulsion d’un coup de foudre qui sera fatale pour Troie. Cette étude évoluera sur trois axes principaux : les tendances théâtrales du XXe siècle, le théâtre de Giraudoux et la manifestation de l’amour dans ce drame. En s’intéressant plus précisément à la relation entre les personnages, à fin d’accéder à leurs manières de penser et connaitre le type d’amour qui anime chacun d’eux, par le biais de leurs répliques. Il s’agit de démontrer en outre, comment l’auteur transpose sa propre vie à celle de son personnage Hector pour en faire le reflet de son idéal, à travers leurs trai communs. This study focuses on the theme of love in the play: The Trojan War will not take place, Jean Giraudoux. The drama was staged in 1935, a very critical period in the history of France. The play narrates the specter of the war that prowls around Troy, because of the kidnapping of Helen the Greek princess by the Trojan prince Paris, under the impulse of a love at first sight, which will be fatal for Troy. This study will progress on three main axes: theatrical trends of the twentieth century, the theater of Giraudoux and the manifestation of love in this drama. By focusing more precisely on the relationship between the characters, to access their ways of thinking and know the type of love that animates each of them, through their replicas.It is also a question of demonstrating how the author transposes his own life to his Hector character to reflect his ideal through their common traits.
