The Sahara was in general, and the Algerian desert was unknown to many, and it was called by several names such as “loose, inhabited.” The trips came in the modern period and refuted what was said about it, and revealed this wide space, and the period between the two centuries (11-12 AH/ 17-18 AD) by the large number of land trips passing through the Algerian desert towards the Hijaz in order to perform the Hajj. The traveler’s books mentioned important information about the Algerian desert and about the paths and regions they passed through, as it came to be rich in mentioning water sources, types and how to extract it, and some travelers touched on doctrinal issues around the water . The paths of trips in the desert varied according to the geographical nature of each path, and the paths were also affected by the abundance and lack of water sources by them, so the water sources became less as we moved south in the middle of the Algerian desert.EN_en
