During the period of Muhammad al-Sheikh al-Saadi, Morocco witnessed conflicts and opposing movements that prevented him from achieving his goal of expanding the areas of his influence and controlling Morocco politically and militarily However, these movements opposing his rule caused him great problems that led to the instability of his rule and confronted him militarily, like movement of Abu Hassoun Al-Wattassi, supported by the Ottoman Turks in Algeria, and the movement of the Atlas Mountains tribes that rebelled against him and launched revolts against him, then the scholars and jurists objected, and they did not recognize his rule and did not offer him the pledge of allegiance, which prompted him to abuse them, such as the jurists Abdul Wahhab Al-Zqaq, Abdul Wahid Al-Wahhab Al-Zuqaq and Abi Hassan Ali Harzouz Al-Meknasi, and his conflict with the Ottoman Turks, who believed that they were not worthy of the caliphate, considering them foreigners, the caliphate was not valid for them, and he called their successor Sultan of “boats and sailors”, which led to his assassination in 1557.EN_en
