The distribution, clearance and stability of many bioactive molecules, including flavonoids, depends largely on the interaction of these substances with plasma proteins, mainly albumin. Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP) is the second major protein in blood and can have the same properties as human serum albumin. Our study targets the interaction between certain flavonoids and the second major blood protein alpha-1-acid glycoprotein. The molecular docking technique was used to predict the location, orientation and types of bonds established between these molecules and this serum protein via the SwissDock software. The results obtained show that ginestein, quercitin, chalcone, hesperetin, catechin, fisetin and luteolin bind more favorably to the binding site with a binding free energy of -8.94 kcal/mol, -7.73 kcal/mol, -7.52 kcal/mol, -7.41 kcal/mol, -7.31 kcal/mol, -7.08 kcal/mol, -7.02 kcal/mol respectively. While ginestein shows the best interaction, these results also may show the potentialrole of AGP as a flavonoid carrier. | EN_en |
