dc.description.abstractThe Maghreb is a vast area from the province of Cyrenaica in the east to the Atlantic Ocean in the west. It is featured by its diverse population. Its people are Berbers from the Pyrenees and the Beths, in addition to the presence of the Roman occupier in it, as well as Jewish, African and Sudanese minorities. The region experienced many confrontations with the efforts of the leaders of the Islamic conquest, some of them were against the Romans, and some were against the Berbers. Among the largest of those confrontations, Sbeitla or Sufetula and Jalula confronted the Romans, Thabudeos or Tahuda and Bir al-Kahina against Berbers. The results of the conquest ranged between victory of the leaders and their defeats as well, each according to The success of the leaders' strategies, the strength of the enemy, and the style of the conquerors in dealing.
