Abstract: Islam has always stood for offspring since it is considered as one of the Islamic principles..It is encouraged to get more and more children so that the numbers of the Ummah will increase . Due to the importance of this topic, I shed light on the issue of birth control , family planning and offspring .Asking about the extent of the legitimacy of this issue in Islam? What are the means used in that ? What are the opinions of advanced and late jurists on the issue ? To answer this question , it is important to start with the definition of birth control and family planning .Then I highlighted methods used and explaininig their advantages and drawbacks .Besides , I took into consideration the opinions of the first and the latest Islamic jurists on the use of birth control methods. On the process of studying their views I have presented evidences of each term and discussing it, then it was necessary to mention the contemporaries views in birth control. After answering this question , I concluded that there is a difference between contraception and planning thought some people may be confused as in both cases the same means and methods can be used except in removing the uterus or tying the fallopian tube . In addition , some birth control methods are permissible to use with disliking detestation as barrier methods while others are forbidden as abortion . At last , birth control and family planning is permissible if it is for interest and contraception is unallowable except in case on medical necessity .
