Studying the quality of colostrum could be useful for understanding its nutritional suitability and hygienic quality, and consequently the health repercussions and growth of newborns. This study aimed to characterise the daily change (first 4 days postpartum) in colostrum quality, through analysis of the chemical (fat and protein), physical (pH, conductivity, acidity, density) and microbiological composition in 3 hybrid goat populations from the Ghardaïa region. The results showed a decrease in fat content from day one to day four in all populations together. The difference between the 4-day averages and the averages for the three populations was not significant. D° acidity, density, protein and fat content followed a decreasing curve, with a slight increase on the third day. The increase in conductivity values was highly significant (p=0.001) in all three populations. Regards microbiological analysis, we noted the absence of fecal streptococci and sulfite-reducing Clostridium in all populations samples. Staphylococcus aureus was present in samples with a load of less than 10 2 CFU/ml. For colostrum from the Alpine X Saanen population: the load of lactic flora is estimated at over 3.10 2 CFU/ml, an average of 5.10 3 CFU/ml of faecal coliforms, total coliforms between 10.5.10 3 and over 2.10 5 CFU/ml, and a load of over 10 2 CFU/ml of yeasts and moulds; for total aerobic mesophilic flora the count is 21.10 4 and ˃3.10 5 CFU/ml.EN_en
